Waterbury, CT – February 22, 2021 To the delight of Bingo and Shakespeare enthusiasts, Bingo for the Bard will return on March 21 for an encore. On a Sunday in January, over 85 people from surrounding towns, NYC and from as far away as Boulder, played Bingo for the Bard on Zoom to benefit the production of Twelfth Night 2021. This was not just old-fashioned Bingo with squares full of numbers…The cards for each of the six games were dedicated to a different Shakespeare related theme – Words Shakespeare Invented; Shakespearean Actors; Cliches, Phrases and Insults; Life and Times of Shakespeare; Love and Murder in the Plays; All About Shakespeare in the Litchfield Hills.

“It was so enjoyable, and you taught us so much about Shakespeare”

“I never knew the Bard created so many of the words and phrases we use every day!”

“Who knew that John Goodman, Amy Adams, and Clare Danes performed in Shakespeare’s plays!?”

At 4pm on March 21, you can play Bingo for the Bard and possibly win a $25 gift card or the $100 grand prize! All of the proceeds of this fundraiser will go towards bringing 5 live outdoor performances of Twelfth Night to the Litchfield Hills, August 4-8. These performances will be free to the community and will feature Equity and professional actors as well as local performers.

You can play Bingo for the Bard by going to the shop at www.shakesperience.org or go directly to http://tiny.cc/bingoforthebard . Each set of 6 Bingo cards costs $25 (1 card per game). Additional sets must be purchased for each player in your household. Deadline for ordering cards is March 15. You will need to print out your own cards before March 21. Please contact Kathy Kehoe at [email protected] or Jeffrey Lapham at [email protected] with any questions.
